My music has kept me very busy since appearing in the search for a young musician on BBC Classical Star! As well as continuing at Junior Guildhall and taking my GCSEs in 2009, I've played in the London Jazz Festival, forming The Tyler Rix Quartet with musicians from The Guildhall School; guested with the BBC Concert Orchestra for Friday Night is Music Night recorded live from the Mermaid Theatre for BBC Radio 2; appeared on Blue Peter earning my Blue Peter badge for doing kick ups while playing the saxophone; been on London Tonight; BBC News E24 presented by Andy May; played in a whole lot of concerts at school and in Junior Guildhall concerts; at St John's, Smith's Square, London; St Martin-in-the-Fields; the Barbican; Wales Millennium Centre; and been interviewed by Classic FM radio and podcast; interviewed by many regional radio stations and by Eamonn Holmes for Radio Five Live; interviewed for Classic FM Magazine while taking workshops at a local primary school during my work experience; as well as playing in lots of private events; and, of course, being invited back to the Barnet Saturday Music School Wind Band I used to be in, and to open my primary school's summer fair, to play my music to the children and hopefully inspire them!
