Tyler,  the last Olympic Relay Torchbearer

The theme of the London 2012 Olympics was  "Inspire  a Generation".  Coca Cola chose Tyler as an inspirational teenager to represent this legacy and become their final Torchbearer, the last of 8000 Relay Torchbearers to carry the Olympic Flame. Tyler carried the Olympic Torch up onto the  stage at the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay Finale Concert in Hyde Park  in front of 60,000 cheering people and lit the cauldron on the last  night of celebrations before the torch's final journey to the opening of the  Olympic Games the following day.

Tyler  carried the Flame on Thursday 26 July in The  City of Westminster.  He travelled along Serpentine Drive  and finished at the Stage of the Hyde Park Concert area. This  journey  started at about 07:10pm and covered a distance of 440 yards.  There was BBC live coverage throughout the day with an interview of Tyler outside Buckingham Palace at 11.30am and the Torch arriving in Hyde Park from 7pm.

Coca Cola's film introducing Tyler at Hyde Park

Last Torchbearer on the Bus, what it was like -film

Coca Cola
searched for people " who have a passion for life  specifically sport and active lifestyles, music and dance, the community or  the environment and live it to the full, who love doing things for their local  community, who are always helping others, have a smile on their face and bring  happiness to others. Nominees who are shaping the future of our nation; Nominees who live positively and constantly strive to better themselves. "
Samsung  were looking for "an ordinary person doing extraordinary things"

Tyler was surprised to hear he had been chosen by both Coca Cola and Samsung to carry the Torch.

Tyler's Olympic Torchbearer's nomination story,

Nominator:  Their passion spreads happiness by...being everything that every teenager  wants to be and telling us anything is possible.
Tyler:   "I hope to inspire other youngsters to follow their dreams be it in music, sport, modelling, education,
or whatever they hope to achieve. Through my own success I want to show the world that with belief and
effort YOU CAN achieve almost anything. I was signed to West Ham Academy, reached my dream of winning the Schoolboys' FA National Cup and represented my school ,District and County. In music I released a number 1 album with Universal Records,  performed as a classical soloist for the BBC Concert Orchestra and played jazz for 10,000 people at the Mayor's Trafalgar Square celebrations. I joined the catwalks for Premier Models. I am doing things most teenagers only dream of. I share my time energy and passion wherever I am invited. "
